Herbal and Home Remedies

Medical Name: Pertussis

Whooping Cough Menu

Turmeric Powder and Honey - Take 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/4 tablespoon of tumeric powder and mix them properly. Now you can take this mixture, 1 tablespoon each day.

Lemon Juice and Honey - Take about four ounces of honey, four tablespoons of lemon juice, and a shot bottle of "Wild Turkey" (pour it directly out of the big bottle). Shake it up properly and then take one teaspoon each day.

Egg and Sugar - Take out the yellow yolk from a raw egg, mash it properly and add some sugar or honey according to taste and then mix whole mixture in to a cup of warm milk. Now, you can drink this prepared mixture for a few days and it will help you in curing cough a lot.

Onion: Take a onion and make its juice. Now a cough syrup can be prepared by combining raw onion juice with honey. Let it remain for 3-4 hours. Now you can take 1 teaspoon of it daily.

Drink Lot of Water - You must drink lots and lots of water everyday, 8-10 glasses of water are must for a normal person. Water is the best expectorant you can take and will help thin the mucus and loosen the cough.

Hot Packs - Hot packs placed on your throat and chest will give you a soothing effect and you may feel slight better by doing that.

Eucalyptus - Add a few drops of eucalyptus to a carrier oil and rub on your chest.

Cedar - Dilute 3 drops of cedar oil in one teaspoon of carrier oil, such as olive, sweet almond or jojoba, and massage it on your chest several times a day.

Garlic - Grate one or two cloves of garlic and mix it with one teaspoon of honey. You can take this to treat whooping cough.

Ginger - Ginger is also a good remedy for treating whooping cough. Make a tea using small amount of ginger and drink it several times a day, as per the condition of the person.

Radish - Radish is another good curative for whooping cough. Prepare a cough syrup by mixing a teaspoon of fresh radish juice with an equal quantity of honey and salt as per the taste. Now this syrup can be taken three times daily.

Carrot Juice - A Syrup prepared from 1 tablespoon carrot juice and little amount of honey and warm water is very beneficial for treating whooping cough. You can take 1 tablespoon of this mixture several times a day.
