Herbal Remedies Cures for Itching

Some of the home based remedies and cures that help relieve itching are:

Basil: Basil herb contains eugenol in abundance which is a topical anesthesia. Take some basil leaves and water in a jar. Now heat the mixture for 10 to 15 minutes. Always cover the solution while heating so that the eugenol evaporation can be avoided. Now strain the solution and allow it to cool for some time, after that take a clean cloth and soak it with the solution and then take a sponge bath using this cloth. It is the best herbal remedy for the itching problem.

Mint: Mint is helpful in the treatment of itching sensation of skin. It contains a compound named methanol that has strong anti inflammatory properties. It also acts like a local anesthesia. Moreover it contains rosmarinic acid in abundance that can be absorbed easily by the skin and in a very quick time. Take some dry leaves of mint and heat it in a jar of water. Allow the solution to cool for sometime. Now apply the solution on effected areas using a piece of cloth or towel.

Thyme: If you are not having Basil and Mint herbs at your home then you can try this herb. It is a fragrant herb. It also comprises of anti inflammatory and anesthetic properties or in other words we can say that it is helpful in reducing inflammation that is caused because of scratching the effected areas. Take some dried leaves of thyme herb and boil them in a jar of water after that follow the same procedure as mentioned in case of basil and mint. You can also improve the power of thyme herb by heating its leaves with dried leaves of dandelion root.

Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is mostly used on the burns but it provides the same relief in itching problem also. You can apply the extract of Aloe Vera directly by rubbing it on the infected areas.

Cloves: Cloves also contains eugenol in plenty so it helps in soothing the skin and thus provide relief in itching sensation. Take a piece of clove and cut it into two. Now rub it on the itchy areas to attain relief.
