Definition:
Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious skin disease characterized by red scaly patches, lesions, or papules on the surface of the skin anywhere on the body. The size of patches vary according to abnormalities in the body.
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that is mediated by T- lymphocytes. A reddish, scaly rash often located over the surfaces of the elbows, knees, scalp, and around or in the ears, navel, genitals or buttocks.
Psoriasis is a chronic (long-lasting) skin disease characterized by scaling and inflammation. Scaling occurs when cells in the outer layer of skin reproduce faster than normal and pile up on the skin's surface.
