Insomnia
Definition:
It is a sleep disorder which is characterised by an inability to sleep and/or to remain asleep for a reasonable period during the night, frequent wakings during the night, or waking up too early than desired.
Insomnia is categorized as:
- Transient Insomnia lasts for a few days.
- Short-Term Insomnia for no more than three weeks.
- Chronic Insomnia occurs when a person has difficulty falling asleep, maintaining sleep, or has nonrestorative sleep for at least three nights a week for one month or longer.
Insomnia is the inability to get an adequate amount of proper sleep. It is the perception or complaint of inadequate or poor quality sleep.
