Causes

Actual cause is not known but it is considered medically that the cause of dysmenorrhoea disorder is inflammation of the various internal organs like the uterus, the ovaries, or the fallopian tubes. In some cases, spasmodic pains are experienced by the woman which is due to nervous causes.

Hormones changes (Prostaglandins, which are produced by the lining of the womb) are responsible for the natural pain. It is due to contractions in the musculature of the uterus.

Symptoms of Dysmenorrhoea disorder -

  • Cramping lower abdominal pains

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Constipation or feeling faint

  • Headaches.

  • Clots are passed in the menstrual blood

  • Exhaustion and lethargy

  • Tends to become less severe after having a baby
