Acne
What is Acne ?Acne is a skin condition that causes spots. Acne is an inflammatory disease which involves the sebaceous glands of the skin. Acne is characterized by papules or pustules or comedones. Acne is a chronic disorder of mainly the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Acne is usually defined in terms of plugged pores, pimples, and even deeper lumps. There is no specific area on the body where formation of acne occurs. However, its most common places are the areas where there is a high concentration of sebaceous glands, like:
Acne can affect people of all ages, but is most common in teenagers. If not treated at right time it may even lead to permanent scarring. Even less severe cases can lead to scarring. In other way you could say that acne is an inflammatory eruption. The most common form of acne is known as "acne vulgaris", which means a common type of acne. Over activity of oil glands at the base of hair follicles is the main cause of the formation of acne or you can say pimples. Hormonal changes during teenage years cause oil glands to become overactive, leading to pimples.
